About me

Ambika is an artist who works primarily with oils, acrylics& glass which she finds wonderfully creative to work with.

"The brush it would appear, leads my hand across the canvas, rather than the other way around."

Her dedication and commitment to her Art is captured on canvas for all to see. Ambika has been painting from as far back as she can remember. She has a love of a sense of being, and eternalizes this on the board. She loves to play around with vivid colours which is the essence of painting. The colors you choose will affect the viewers perceptions and ultimately determine whether a painting evokes feelings of warmth and happiness.

I consider each painting an opportunity to create a work of art that exhibits both beauty and timelessness. It's satisfying to know that my painting could one day become a cherished heirloom and provide pleasure for many years to come. I feel I've been blessed with a talent that can bring joy to the lives of others. I want to meld the physical and spiritual characteristics of each subject I paint into the most telling work of art possible. Conveying the essence is paramount.

What is Art? Art is only what the viewer brings to it whether it is sadness, or enjoyment.

Art is therefore less restricted than other types of binary communication because it calls into play more levels of personal experience, both subtly and explicitly. Art impacts individuals in numerous ways, and so doing directly impacts society. The term ‘artist’ can be defined only by an individual person. Just as people have individual thoughts and opinions on what they think a good piece of artwork is, people have different opinions on what an artist is, how to define and how to recognise one. Generally people define an artist as either any individual that creates original and meaningful work, or as any individual that creates original and meaningful work which is widely recognised and appreciated. Art is a form of expression. It is beautiful, ugly, tasteful, distasteful, impressionistic, realistic... Art is everywhere. It lives in the soul, mind, and even the heart. Art is an outlet for people to express themselves. Art is a way for the human mind to express itself These expressions often c ome out through their art. What is classified as art? Besides the obvious…paintings, drawings, etc…Art can be dancing, singing, acting, etc. It can be pretty much anything that expresses an idea. Art has the ability to captivate and move. Many styles of art have motivated people and inspired them in the spirit of the artists. Art leaves a lasting impression on people . It takes a special style of art to last and continue to inspire people for generation after generation. Some of the art of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century continue to have that very affect. Impressionism and Post-Impressionism remain two of the most influential art styles ever.

I think Art is at the center of society and shapes how we live, see, think, and interpret the world. Art can create mass outrage or sustenance depending on how the larger part of society understands. Society perceives the artist in many ways, but stereotypically the artist is viewed as a somewhat alternative person, perhaps a little crazy, free-spirited, intense or different. Art comes in many different forms. It isn’t just visual work done on canvas using a certain medium, like pencils, watercolors, or oils. Art is just a way in which an individual expresses his or her inner most self, so that others can understand that individuals personality or feelings to their fullest. The most common things we think of when we think of art is drawings, poems, writing books or short stories, and plays. Although these are the most common forms of art, art comes in many other forms
